How to post

This question comes up occasionally: How do I post?

Just go to any posting (the latest is usually best), then click on Comments. This will let you read other people's comments and also post your own. You don't have to sign up for a screen name to post.

Also, check out the post about our trip at the blog by Leslie Kelly, food writer for the Memphis Commercial Appeal.

In Memphis, The Rendezvous for the Best Barbeque Ribs. Also you should travel to Taylor, MS, just south of Oxford, for a taste of Southern Catfish and entertainment at Taylor Grocery.

I'm sorry, but if you're not even going to leave your name, I don't think you get to declare The Rendezvous as best ribs! If you want to be touristy, go there, but if you want the best ribs in town, go to Central BBQ. I promise I don't work there -- just a devoted customer. Don't miss the BBQ nachos for an appetizer and then dive into some ribs -- you won't be sorry.

Then, after you're done, if you want to have a post-dinner drink and experience a little of the Memphis scene, head on around the corner to the Cooper-Young district (my neighborhood) where you can imbibe at any one of half a dozen or more locales. From grunge bar (Young Avenue) to hipper-than-thou (dish), CY's got it all!

Hi Jane, and thanks for the note about the blog. This is great! So many great suggestions already!

To be true to the blog system, I work in public relations and this is one of my clients. But I think you need to "See Rock City," on Lookout Mountain just outside of Chattanooga, which is celebrating its 75th anniversary in 2007. It's the perfect roadside stop to stretch your legs and walk the nearly mile-long Enchanted Trail. Plus, you can pick up a world-famous birdhouse as a souvenir.

Since you are headed to the West coarst, you need to stop by Crater Lake in Oregon. It's one of the most amazing lakes I've ever seen.

I'd spend some time along Route 66 in New Mexico. Spend at night at the historic Blue Swallow Motel in Tucumcari, walk the streets of Santa Fe, see the Central Avenue neon lights in Albuquerque, and explore the red rocks of Indian country.
